WATER SENSITIVE URBAN DESIGN RESEARCH
We strive to create knowledge about better water sensitive urban design in Thailand.
Better the ways people can design urban spaces that respond to our water issues
Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) offers a multitude of benefits for urban environments. It effectively manages stormwater, reducing the risk of flooding and improving water quality by filtering pollutants and sediments. By incorporating green spaces and water features, WSUD not only supports biodiversity, creating habitats for plants and wildlife, but also helps cool urban areas, mitigating the urban heat island effect. Additionally, it promotes water conservation through rainwater harvesting and reuse, significantly decreasing the demand on conventional water supplies. Aesthetically, WSUD enhances the urban landscape, making cities more attractive and livable, while fostering a sustainable and resilient future.
